Professor Massimo Rugge, Scientific Director of the Veneto Tumour Registry and Director of the Unit of Pathology at the University of Padova, was elected President of AIRTUM - Associazione Italiana Registri Tumori (Italian Association of Tumour Registries).

The election took place in Trapani (Sicily) during the 23rd Meeting of AIRTUM, the reference point for the national network of tumour registries that guarantee the epidemiological surveillance of the oncological pathology of the national territory.

« AIRTUM is an inter-disciplinary scientific association with an old tradition, that includes experts in Pathology, Epidemiology, Oncology and Statistics. This asset allows the monitoring of the tumour incidence in Italy and the creation of the future Italian Tumour Registry.
This role makes me proud – said Professor Rugge -. The AIRTUM Board of Directors will guarantee a positive collaboration and will pursue concrete objectives.»
